Abbey and Zane Carter chose a boho aesthetic for their wedding at 1868 Farmhouse in Boone, Iowa.
We focused on a neutral color palette and added in texture with pampas grass, bunny tails, and dried palm leaves.Simplicity was the main focus when designing these florals as the bride and her bridesmaids would be wearing sleek designed dresses.
The Personals
For Abbey’s bridal bouquet, we ordered a stunning white king protea, quicksand roses, beige carnations silver dollar eucalyptus and finished with a gorgeous phalaenopsis orchid. This paired perfectly with Abbey’s stunning wedding dress .For the gentlemen, we went with eclectic mix of dried babies breath, bleached ruscus and bunny tails, finished with champagne silk ribbon.
The Ceremony
The beautiful couple was married in front of wooden double triangle arch created by the venue. We designed two pieces for this look. To stay with the boho aesthetic, we ordered large dried palms for the arch piece and I was so happy with how it turned out.
The Reception
Inside, the reception decor started with cheese cloth runners down the length of the farm-style tables. Then we paired our modern style candle sticks with our gold tulip votives for the glow of candles at two different heights. We opted to use battery operated taper candles to have an open taper look. This venue allows a real flame but it must be within some sort of a container, which is normal protocol for most venues inIowa. We felt the exposed look of the battery operated tapers fit best with the boho vibe.
To execute the couple’s aesthetic, we added 10 floral pieces designed in a vintage compote and strategically placed them throughout the farm-style tables. These pieces included roses, eucalyptus, antique carnations, pampas grass and finished with a dried palm to match the bridesmaids bouquets.
To soften the look,we added stems of Italian Ruscus.
My favorite statement piece of the reception had to be the gorgeous mantle piece set behind the head table.Designed using 5ft Uva Grass stems and palm leaves for height and paired with quicksand roses and legge marrone beige carnations.I finished the look with individual ribbon strands, in the couple’s nude color palette.
